Tablets: The Future of Mobile Computing?
High-tech computers and smart phones have become essentials in many people’s lives, giving them the capability to do everything from business to banking to online chatting. However, smart phones cannot compete with high tech computers and the same computers won’t fit in a briefcase. Tablet personal computers function as a happy medium between the two, giving the user the same interface as a computer with great portability.
Tablet personal computers were first created by Microsoft, who coined the name. Essentially, they are small laptops with a rotatable touch screen between 11″ and 14″, and run the same operating systems as traditional computers. Furthermore, tablets have the ability to download and run apps, similar to a smart phone. Using a tablet is kind of like having a giant smart phone that runs on Windows or Mac or the like.
With these features, tablets are not only the latest electronic trend but also extremely practical for both the work and social life. This makes them destined to become a huge part of mobile computing as the world becomes more and more connected by and dependent on technology.
For relatively new technology, tablets are already extremely impressive and will only improve with time.
